I’m always up for a trial of gluten-free bread mixes. Since bread is what I would consider a treat in our household, it is especially nice to smell fresh loaves baking in the oven.
This particular mix is gluten-free and dairy-free and can be used in a regular, conventional oven or in a bread machine. Since I am still without a bread machine, I chose the traditional preparation method.
The loaf mix contained a yeast packet, which was a pleasant surprise, and also quite convenient. I used almond milk to complete the recipe and it turned out fine-tasting, but dense. Using regular dairy milk might produce a fluffier and more airy loaf as the yeast would feed off the sugars in the dairy milk a bit more. Overall, I would say that it is worth the price, and worth a try. Our family finished the bread, but it is not our “top loaf” we tried thus far.
