Ingredients
- 6 slices nitrate-free bacon cut in half (can use scissors)
- 12 figs dried, trim off stem ends or use pitted dates - (FODMAP)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Wrap half a slice of bacon around the fig, secure with a toothpick.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until the bacon is crisp.
Tip
You can pre cook the bacon till it's still soft and wrap-able to cut down on cooking time.
You can replace the fig with pitted dates. You may like to stuff the date with a slice of parmesan cheese or some goat cheese.
Another option, before serving, connect a basil leaf over the bacon connecting it with the toothpick ends.
